SimpleDateFormat dateFormat = new SimpleDateFormat("yyyy-MM-dd");

try {
    createdDate = dateFormat.parse(selectedDate);
} catch (ParseException e1) {
    e1.printStackTrace();
}

System.out.println(createdDate);
